Notice: Proper stoplamp switch adjustment is essential. Improper stoplamp switch
adjustment may cause brake drag, heat buildup and excessive brake lining wear.
Important: Before Adjusting the stoplamp switch, check the brake pedal in the
fully released position. Inspect that the stoplamp plunger is
fully depressed against the brake pedal shanks.
- Insert the stoplamp switch into the brake pedal bracket.
- Push the brake pedal forward in order to set the brake push rod
into the booster.
- Pull the brake pedal to the rear, against
the internal stop. This adjusts the stoplamp switch.
- Inspect the stoplamp switch for proper
adjustment. For diagnosis of the stop-lamps, Refer to
Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems
