Heater Inlet Pipe Replacement 3.1L

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.1L.
3. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose inlet clamp.



4. Disconnect the inlet hose (3) from the inlet pipe.



5. Remove the inlet pipe mounting nut.
6. Remove the inlet pipe.

1. Install the heater inlet pipe.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

2. Install the heater inlet pipe mounting nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 7 N·m (62 lb in).




3. Connect the inlet hose (3) to the inlet pipe.
4. Use the J 38185 in order to reposition the heater hose inlet clamp.
5. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.1L.
6. Refill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
