Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement 3.1L

Tools Required

    • J 25033-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer
    • J 37609-A Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.1L.
  2. Remove the BEC for tool clearance. Refer to Underhood Electrical Center or Junction Block Replacement in Wiring Systems.

  3. Object Number: 293353  Size: SH
  4. Using J 37609-A remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 293353  Size: SH

    Important: 

       • Never use a hammer to install the power steering pulley.
       • The face of the power steering pulley hub must be flush with the end of the power steering pump driveshaft.

  1. Using J 25033-C install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump.
  2. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.1L.
  3. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  4. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  5. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .

Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement W/3.8L

Tools Required

    • J 25033-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Installer
    • J 25034-C Power Steering Pump Pulley Remover

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump from the engine for clearance. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 293353  Size: SH
  3. Using J 25034-C remove the power steering pump pulley from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 293353  Size: SH

    Important: 

       • Never use a hammer to install the power steering pulley.
       • The face of the power steering pulley hub must be flush with the end of the power steering pump driveshaft.

  1. Using J 25033-C install the power steering pump pulley to the power steering pump.
  2. Install the power steering pump to the engine. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
  3. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  4. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  5. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Fluid Leaks .
