Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Upper L67

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

  2. Object Number: 153564  Size: SH
  3. Remove the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  4. Remove the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  5. Object Number: 370453  Size: SH
  6. Remove the upper supercharger drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement - Upper .

  7. Object Number: 97873  Size: SH
  8. Remove the supercharger drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Supercharger .

  9. Object Number: 97620  Size: SH
  10. Remove the right engine mount strut at the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .

  11. Object Number: 97874  Size: SH
  12. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket nuts and stud.
  13. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 97874  Size: SH
  1. Install the right engine mount strut bracket to the cylinder head.

  2. Object Number: 327852  Size: SH
  3. Install the electronic ignition module harness assembly to the stud, as shown.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the right engine mount strut bracket nuts and stud.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the right engine mount strut bracket nuts and stud to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the right engine mount strut to the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Left Side and Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .

  8. Object Number: 97873  Size: SH
  9. Install the supercharger drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement - Supercharger .

  10. Object Number: 370453  Size: SH
  11. Install the upper supercharger drive belt idler pulley. Refer to Drive Belt Idler Pulley Replacement - Upper .
  12. Install the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  13. Object Number: 153564  Size: SH
  14. Install the ignition coil. Refer to Ignition Coil Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  15. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement - Right Upper L36

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .

  4. Remove the right engine mount strut from the upper engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .

  5. Object Number: 327637  Size: SH
  6. Remove the lower engine mount strut bracket nut.
  7. Remove the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts and the bracket.
  8. Remove the EVAP emissions canister purge valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  9. Caution: Remove the fuel tank cap and relieve the fuel system pressure before servicing the fuel system in order to reduce the risk of personal injury. After you relieve the fuel system pressure, a small amount of fuel may be released when servicing the fuel lines, the fuel injection pump, or the connections. In order to reduce the risk of personal injury, cover the fuel system components with a shop towel before disconnection. This will catch any fuel that may leak out. Place the towel in an approved container when the disconnection is complete.

  10. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  11. Remove the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.

  13. Remove the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  14. Remove the upper engine mount strut bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 327736  Size: SH
  1. Install the upper engine mount strut bracket.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the upper engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the fuel rail assembly. Refer to Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.
  6. Install the EVAP emissions canister purge valve. Refer to Evaporative Emission Canister Purge Solenoid Valve Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.8L.

  7. Object Number: 327637  Size: SH
  8. Install the lower engine mount strut bracket, bolts and nut.
  9. • Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket nut.

    Tighten
    Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket nut to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

    • Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the lower engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  10. Install the right engine mount strut to the upper engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement - Right Side .
  11. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
