Cupholder May Not Retain Cups (Replace Holder)

Some customers may comment that the cup holder in the center console does not perform to their expectations.

Important: The dealer should inform the customer of a new design single cup holder now available that would replace the double cup holder. Refer to the illustration above.

To convert from the double cup holder to the single cup holder design, follow the procedure below.

1. Remove the cup holder . Refer to the Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front procedure in SI.



2. Lay the console trim on the left and the right side and draw a guide line as shown in the illustration above.
3. Use a die grinder to cut the cup holder from the trim. Once the cuts are made the cup holder will drop out the bottom of the trim plate.
4. Install the new cup holder. It will slide in from the top.
5. Install the console trim plate. Refer to the Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front procedure in SI.
