Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement Left

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad Clip Remover


    Object Number: 523500  Size: SH
  1. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the left instrument panel (IP) insulator retainers from the steering column opening filler panel.

  2. Object Number: 182459  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.

  4. Object Number: 455211  Size: SH
  5. Remove the left IP insulator from the stud at the accelerator pedal.
  6. Remove the left IP insulator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the left instrument panel (IP) insulator to the IP.

  2. Object Number: 182459  Size: SH
  3. Install the courtesy lamp to the instrument panel insulator then rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.

  4. Object Number: 455211  Size: SH
  5. Install the left IP insulator to the stud at the accelerator pedal.

  6. Object Number: 523500  Size: SH
  7. Install the left IP insulator retainers to the steering column opening filler panel.

Instrument Panel Insulator Replacement Right

Removal Procedure

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Clip Remover


    Object Number: 478484  Size: SH
  1. Use the J 38778 in order to remove the right instrument panel (IP) insulator retainers.
  2. Adjust the carpeting for access.

  3. Object Number: 182459  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the courtesy lamp from the instrument panel insulator by turning 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
  5. Remove the right IP insulator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the right instrument panel (IP) insulator to the to the floorpan beneath the IP.

  2. Object Number: 182459  Size: SH
  3. Install the courtesy lamp to the IP insulator then rotate 1/4 turn clockwise to secure.

  4. Object Number: 478484  Size: SH

    Important: Make sure that the right IP insulator does not block the floor heater outlet.

  5. Install the right IP insulator retainers.
  6. Return the carpet to the original position.
