HIGH COLD HORN BLOWING EFFORT CUSTOM STEERING WHEELS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1982 SKYHAWK, SKYLARK, CENTURY, REGAL, LESABRE AND ELECTRA WITH CUSTOM STEERING WHEEL

1985 SKYHAWK, SKYLARK, CENTURY, REGAL AND LESABRE WITH CUSTOM STEERING WHEEL

During cold weather, the effort required to energize the horn may be higher than some owners desire due to the stiffness of the vinyl material horn pad at low temperatures.

The custom (boomerang shape) horn pad has been changed to a softer vinyl early in the 1985 model. The custom pads are also available in 1982 colors. Order 1982 and 1985 part numbers as shown in Group 6.512.

NOTE: Ornamentation on the 1982 replacement pads will be the same as the 1985 custom pads.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
