Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Notice: The rear axle must not be allowed to hang freely while servicing rear suspension components. Not supporting the rear axle will result in damage to the upper control arm and/or to the air suspension components.

  3. Support the rear axle.

  4. Object Number: 731620  Size: SH
  5. Remove the shock absorber upper mounting bolt.

  6. Object Number: 731622  Size: SH
  7. Remove the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
  8. Remove the shock absorber from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 731622  Size: SH
  1. Install the shock absorber to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the shock absorber lower mounting bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the shock absorber lower mounting bolt to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).


    Object Number: 731620  Size: SH
  5. Install the shock absorber upper mounting bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the shock absorber upper mounting nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  7. Remove the support from the rear axle.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
