Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  2. Object Number: 718026  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure that the speaker electrical connector does not fall into the speaker opening.

  3. Remove the 3 screws that retain the speaker to the instrument panel (IP) substrate.
  4. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector.
  5. Remove the speaker from the IP.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the speaker to the IP.
  2. Connect the speaker electrical connector.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the 3 speaker retaining screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the trim pad. Refer to Instrument Panel Upper Trim Pad Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
