Makes 🢒 Buick 🢒 2004 🢒 Rainier 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Mechanical - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L 🢒 Valve Rocker Arm Cover Installation - Left Side

    Important: 

       • All gasket surfaces should be free of oil or other foreign material during assembly.
       • DO NOT use the valve rocker arm cover gasket again.
       • If the vapor vent grommet has been removed from the valve rocker arm cover, install a NEW vapor vent grommet during assembly.

  1. Install NEW valve rocker arm cover grommets and use NEW valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.
  2. Install a NEW cover gasket (504) into the valve rocker arm cover.

    3. Object Number: 1277108 Size: SH
  3. Install the valve rocker arm cover onto the cylinder head.

    4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  4. Install the cover bolts with grommets.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the valve rocker arm cover bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489), or equivalent, to the threads of the bracket bolts.
  6. Install the ignition coils and bracket assembly and bolts.

    7. Tighten
    Tighten the ignition coil and bracket assembly bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
