Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 581573 Size: SH

Important: Inspect the left sound insulator (2) for the proper clearance to the accelerator and brake pedals. Improper clearance may result in binding of the accelerator or brake pedals.

  1. Position the left sound insulator (2) to the IP with the forward left tab is located above the parking brake bracket flange.
  2. Connect the following components to the insulator:
  3. • The courtesy lamp
    • The DSIR connector
    • The heater temperature sensor connector

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fasteners (1) to the IP.
  5. Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).
