Removal Procedure

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
  2. Remove the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  3. Remove the right side I/P end cap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  4. Remove the I/P cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  5. Remove the retaining screws from the data link.
  6. Remove the I/P lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  7. Remove the retaining screws fastening the right side vent duct.
  8. Remove the retaining screws fastening the left side vent duct.
  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the temperature sensors.
  10. Remove the right vent duct.
  11. Remove the left vent duct.
  12. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  13. Remove the heater and A/C control assembly. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC.
  14. Remove the right side vent duct fastener.
  15. Remove the right side vent duct.
  16. Remove the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  17. Remove the right and left windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.

  18. Object Number: 466065  Size: SH
  19. Remove the fasteners securing the I/P trim pad.
  20. Pull the I/P trim pad rearward slightly.
  21. Remove the I/P trim pad.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 466065  Size: SH
  1. Install the I/P trim pad partway.
  2. Align the I/P trim pad with the carrier.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the fasteners securing the I/P trim pad.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the left and right windshield pillar garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
  7. Install the speaker. Refer to Radio Front Speaker Replacement in Entertainment.
  8. Install the right side vent duct.
  9. Install the right side vent duct fastener.
  10. Install the heater and A/C control assembly. Refer to HVAC Control Module Replacement in HVAC.
  11. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  12. Install the left vent duct.
  13. Install the right vent duct.
  14. Install the retainers fastening the left vent duct.
  15. Install the retainers fastening the right vent duct
  16. Install the I/P lower trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Lower Trim Panel Replacement .
  17. Install the retainers fastening the data link.
  18. Install the I/P cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .
  19. Install the right side I/P end cap. Refer to Instrument Panel Outer Trim Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  20. Install the right sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side .
  21. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling and SIR Disabling and Enabling in SIR.
