Drive Belt Idler Pulley Bracket Replacement L67

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
  2. Remove the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 327164  Size: SH
  4. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  5. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.

  6. Object Number: 36689  Size: SH
  7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bracket bolts.
  8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bracket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 36689  Size: SH
  1. Position the drive belt idler pulley bracket to the engine.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Apply GM P/N 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) or equivalent to the bolt threads.
  4. Install the drive belt idler pulley bracket bolts.

    Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the drive belt idler pulley.
  6. Install the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  8. Install the supercharger drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  9. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
