Removal Procedure

J 34730 Fuel Pressure Gauge

  1. Clean the area around the fuel pressure connection with GM X-30A or equivalent.
  2. Refer to

    Caution: Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement .

  4. Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief .
  5. Remove the fuel pressure connection cap (3).
  6. Remove the fuel pressure connection valve using a standard valve core removal and installation tool.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12277  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pressure connection valve assembly using a standard valve core removal and installation tool.
  2. Install the fuel pressure connection valve cap (3).
  3. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Cable Replacement .
  5. Inspect for leaks.
  6. 5.1. Turn the ignition switch ON for 2 seconds.
    5.2. Turn the ignition switch OFF for 10 seconds.
    5.3. Turn the ignition switch ON.
    5.4. Check for fuel leaks.
