OIL PRESSURE SWITCH/SENDER WIRING (NEW SERVICE PROCEDURE)

SUBJECT: OIL PRESSURE SWITCH OR SENDER/SWITCH WIRING

MODELS AFFECTED: 1991 PARK AVENUE/ULTRA WITH U23 INDICATORS OR UB3 GAGES

CONDITION:

----------- Inoperative or "on" continually oil pressure warning lamp, low pressure indication or erratic oil pressure gage or blown ignition fuse for circuit 839.

CAUSE:

------- Oil pressure warning lamp/sender switch and fuel pump harness rubs through and opens or shorts to ground at the oil filter adapter housing.

CORRECTION:

------------ Repair, or replace the wire(s) and install a piece of electrical conduit long enough to protect the harness from rubbing at the oil filter adapter housing. See Figure 1.

Vehicles built after the VIN listed below have the conduit installed.
