Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1685288  Size: SH
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  2. Remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  3. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .
  5. Remove the heater inlet and outlet hose adapter bolts (1, 3). (heater hoses shown removed for clarity).
  6. Remove the heater inlet (4) and outlet (2) hose adapters and reposition the hoses out of the way.

  8. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  9. Remove the drive belt tensioner.

  10. Object Number: 326960  Size: SH
  11. If replacing the drive belt tensioner, remove the thermostat bypass upper and lower pipes.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 326960  Size: SH
  1. If replacing the drive belt tensioner, lubricate the thermostat bypass upper and lower pipe seals with engine coolant and install the upper and lower pipes to the tensioner.

  2. Object Number: 1685138  Size: SH
  3. Position the drive belt tensioner to the cylinder head.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the drive belt tensioner bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Position and install the heater inlet (4) and outlet (2) hose adapters. (heater hoses shown removed for clarity).
  8. Install the heater inlet and outlet hose adapter bolts (1, 3).
  9. Install the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement .
  10. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  11. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  12. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
