Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1671749 Size: SH
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Disconnect the fuel fill pipe vent hose quick connect fitting (2) at the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  3. Using a 90 degree pick or an small flat-bladed screwdriver disengage the canister filter cover clips.
  4. Remove and discard the EVAP canister filter cover (3).
  5. Remove and discard the EVAP canister filter cover seal (2).
  6. Remove and discard the EVAP canister filter (1).
  7. Clean the inside of the EVAP canister filter housing with a clean shop towel.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1672281 Size: SH
  1. Install a NEW EVAP canister filter (1) into the EVAP canister.

    2. Important: Ensure the NEW EVAP canister seal is properly seated into the NEW cover.

  2. Install a NEW EVAP canister filter cover seal (2) to the NEW EVAP canister cover (3).
  3. Snap the EVAP canister filter cover onto the EVAP canister.

  4. Connect the fuel fill pipe vent hose quick connect fitting (2) at the EVAP canister. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  5. Lower the vehicle.
