Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 1688912 Size: SH
  1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the mass air flow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.

    3. Object Number: 1685531 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube quick connect fitting from the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

    4. Object Number: 1688934 Size: SH
  4. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.
  5. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body.

    6. Object Number: 1689168 Size: SH
  6. Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct from the MAF/IAT sensor.
  7. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the MAF/IAT sensor and the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1689168 Size: SH
  1. Install air cleaner outlet duct to the vehicle and the MAF/IAT sensor.

    2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  2. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the MAF/IAT sensor.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  3. Install the air cleaner outlet duct to the throttle body.
  4. Tighten the air cleaner outlet duct clamp at the throttle body.

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Connect the PCV tube quick connect fitting to the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

    6. Object Number: 1688912 Size: SH
  6. Connect the engine harness electrical connector to the MAF/IAT sensor.
  7. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement .
