Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement RPO L26

Tools Required

    • J 25034-C Pulley Remover
    • J 25033-C Pulley Installer

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 649303  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
  3. Use the J 25034-C to remove the power steering pulley from the power steering pump.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 643361  Size: SH
  1. Use the J 25033-C to install the power steering pulley to the power steering pump.

  2. Object Number: 254752  Size: SH
  3. Ensure that the axial tolerance of the power steering pulley on the power steering pump is within 0.25 mm (0.010 in).
  4. Install the power steering pump to the engine. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement .
  5. Install the pump drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  7. Inspect the system for leaks.

Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement RPO LD8

Tools Required

    • J 25034-C Pulley Remover
    • J 25033-C Pulley Installer

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 284266  Size: SH
  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  2. Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
  3. Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering reservoir.
  4. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolt.

  5. Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  6. Raise the power steering pump up to access the power steering pulley.
  7. Use the J 25034-C to remove the power steering pulley.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 254752  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure the pulley is installed flush to within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) of the shaft.

  1. Use the J 25033-C to install the power steering pulley to the pump.

  2. Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  3. Position the power steering pump to the engine.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the power steering pump mounting bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump mounting bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  7. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering reservoir.
  8. Remove the drain pan from under vehicle.
  9. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement.
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
