DELAYED OR SOFT TCC APPLY REMOVE PLUG IN PUMP COVER

VEHICLE APPLICATIONS:

ALL THM 200C EQUIPPED VEHICLES.

BULLETIN COVERS:

WHEN A NEW TURBINE SHAFT WITH A BALL CAPSULE WAS RELEASED FOR PRODUCTION, A PLUG (FIGURE 1, ITEM 222) SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE PUMP COVER. THIS PLUG MAY NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED ON ALL SUBJECT TRANSMISSIONS. IF THE PLUG IS LEFT IN, A SLIGHTLY SLOWER TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC) APPLY MAY RESULT. THIS SLIGHTLY SLOWER TCC APPLY IS NOT A DURABILITY CONCERN.

DATE OF PRODUCTION CHANGE: (FIGURE 2)

OCTOBER 8, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 281): NEW TURBINE SHAFT ASSEMBLY WITH BALL CAPSULE.

DECEMBER 15, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 349): PLUG (222) REMOVED FROM PUMP COVER.

THE PLUG (222) MAY NOT HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM THE PUMP COVER ON A THM 200C BUILT BETWEEN OCTOBER 8, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 281) AND DECEMBER 15, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 349).

SERVICE ACTION:

WHEN SERVICING THE PUMP ON A THM 200C BUILT ON OR AFTER OCTOBER 8, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 281), MAKE SURE THE PLUG (222) IS REMOVED FROM THE PUMP COVER.

NOTE: WHEN INSTALLING OR SERVICING A NEUTRAL/DRIVE SHIFT PACKAGE ON A THM 200C BUILT BEFORE DECEMBER 15, 1986 (JULIAN DATE 349), MAKE SURE THE PLUG IS REMOVED FROM THE PUMP COVER. THE NEW TURBINE SHAFT ASSEMBLY WITH BALL CAPSULE IS INCLUDED IN THE NEUTRAL/DRIVE SHIFT PACKAGE.
