Service VME - Trunk Closeout Panel Loose

Subject:Service VME -- Trunk Closeout Panel Loose

Models:.

When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.

SERVICE VME

This is a product VME going out to all Pontiac, Oldsmobile and Buick dealers on the VME system. This is to advise you that some 2002 and early built 2003 LeSabres, Bonnevilles and Auroras may experience a condition where the close-out panel inside the trunk, between the trunk and the rear seat, may fall down. This is a condition that's due to the weakness in the glue that holds the magnets to the foam blocks that attach to the close-out panel. If you experience this condition I would suggest using 3M yellow adhesive weather-strip cement to reattach the magnets to the foam strips and this should correct the concern. Additional information will be following shortly. Thank you. This is Coby Glenn, Brand Quality Manager, Pontiac Bonneville

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
