Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.

  2. Object Number: 470256  Size: SH
  3. Move the front seat to the full rearward position.
  4. If the vehicle is equipped with a six-way power seat, move the seat to the full rearward and up position in order to gain access to the adjuster-to-floor pan attaching fasteners.

  5. Remove the front seat fastener trim covers.

  7. Remove the forward front seat fasteners.

  8. Object Number: 469175  Size: SH
  9. Move the seat to the full forward position.
  10. Remove the rearward front seat fasteners.

  11. Object Number: 470257  Size: SH
  12. Disconnect the electrical connector on the six-way power seat.
  13. Remove the center belt on the AM6 drivers seat. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Center Front in Seat Belts.
  14. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 470257  Size: SH
  1. Position the front seat in the vehicle.
  2. Install the center seat belt on the AM6 drivers seat. Refer to Seat Belt Replacement - Center Front in Seat Belts.
  3. Connect the electrical connector on the six-way power seat.

  4. Object Number: 469175  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the rearward front seat fasteners.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  7. Place the seat to the full rearward position.
  8. Install the forward front seat fasteners.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the fasteners to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).

  10. Install the front seat fastener trim covers.
  11. Return the front seat to its original position.
  12. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
