Verify that the heated Seat Switch Low Indicator Inoperative complaint is present.

Does the LO LED indicator of the heated seat switch operate as described in the Heated Seats Circuit description?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the LO LED of the heated seat switch always on?

Go to Step 9

Turn ON the heated seat to the high heat position.

Does the LO LED of the heated seat switch illuminate?

Go to Step 8

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the heated seat switch harness connector.
  3. Connect a 3-amp fused jumper wire from the ground terminal of the heated seat switch to a good ground.
  4. Probe the LO LED terminal of the heated seat switch with a test lamp that is connected to battery positive voltage.

Does the LO LED of the heated seat switch illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Test the low heat LED feed circuit between the heated seat switch and the door module for a short to ground, a high resistance, or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems

Test the heated seat status signal circuit between the rear integration module and the heated seat module for a short to battery voltage or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the heated seat status signal circuit between the rear integration module and the heated seat module for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing Wiring Repairs and in Wiring Systems.
