Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement early -before VIN YU261467,Y4222260

Tools Required

1. Remove the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .



2. Remove the door lamp or reflector. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
3. Remove the fastener located at the rear of the lamp opening (2).
4. Use the J 36796 in order to release the retainers (3) around the outside edges of the door trim panel (1).



5. Use the J 38778 in order to disengage the male portion of the two piece fasteners from the cages on the door trim panel.

5.1.	Push each fastener in the direction of the arrows.

5.2.	Allow the fasteners to fall into the inside of the door trim panel.

6. Slide the door trim panel upwards approximately 30.0 mm (1.17 in) in order to release the door trim panel from the fasteners.
7. Disconnect the door trim panel wiring harness.
8. Remove the door trim panel from the vehicle.



9. Use long needle nose pliers in order to depress the tabs on the spring clips.
10. Slide the black plastic retainers off of the spring clips.

1. Insert the black plastic retainers into the mounting bracket on the inside of the door trim panel.



2. Install the male portion of the door trim fasteners into the cages on the door trim panel.



3. Install the door trim panel (1) with the two load assist fasteners at the lower edge of the door panel.
4. Connect the electrical connector.
5. Align the armrest pull cup retainers to the door trim panel.
6. Snap in the retainers in order to secure the center of the door trim panel to the inner door panel.
7. Pull on the armrest in order to ensure a proper fit.
8. Secure the outside edges of the door trim panel by pushing in the retainers (3).
9. Press outboard midway between the top of the door trim panel and the armrest in order to secure the trim panel to the window inner belt seal strip.
10. Install the fastener in the door lamp opening (2).
11. Install the door lamp. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
12. Install the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .

Tools Required

1. J 38778 Door Trim Pad Remover



2. Remove the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
3. Remove the fastener (1).



4. Remove the door lamp or reflector. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
5. Remove the fastener located at the rear of the lamp opening (2).
6. Use the J 38778 in order to release the retainers (3) around the outside edges of the door trim panel (1).
7. Lift the door trim panel in order to release the door trim panel from the window inner belt seal strip.
8. Disconnect the door trim panel wiring harness.

1. Install the door trim panel (1) with the two load assist fasteners at the lower edge of the door panel.
2. Connect the electrical connector.
3. Secure the outside edges of the door trim panel by pushing in the retainers (3).
4. Press outboard midway between the top of the door trim panel and the armrest in order to secure the trim panel to the window inner belt seal strip.



5. Install the fastener (1) in the inside door handle opening.
6. Install the fastener in the door lamp opening (2).
7. Install the door lamp. Refer to Door Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
8. Install the inside door handle bezel. Refer to Door Inside Handle Bezel Replacement .
