Did you perform the Memory Seats System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector to ground.
  3. • The connector may be taped up into the body harness.
    • The memory seat/mirror module will beep once in order to acknowledge entrance into the mode 1 diagnostics.
    • Refer to Power Seats Circuit Description for a detailed explanation of the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic modes.
  4. Operate the LH seat switch in all directions. (The module will beep once for each switch input received.)
  5. Any time a switch is operated and the module does not beep, the module did not receive an input from that switch.

Were there any switch operations where the memory seat/mirror module beeped?

  1. Remove ground from the memory seat/mirror module diagnostic connector. After 5 seconds the module will sound 3 beeps to indicate that the module has left the diagnostic mode.
  2. Disconnect the LH seat switch.
  3. Connect a DMM from the suspect memory seat/mirror module connector cavity to ground.
  4. • Entire seat forward: C2-D14 (TAN)
    • Entire seat back: C2-C7 (LT GRN)
    • Rear vertical up: C2-D16 (YEL)
    • Rear vertical down: C2-C15 (LT BLU/WHT)
    • Front vertical up: C2-D15 (DK GRN)
    • Front vertical down: C2-C14 (DK BLU)
    • Recline forward: C2-C13 (LT GRN)
    • Recline back: C2-C16 (LT BLU)
  5. Press the LH seat switch in the suspect direction.

Is the voltage within the specified range?

10-15 V

Inspect for an open in the wiring between the non-functioning seat motor and the memory seat/mirror module. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is the suspect wiring OK?

Replace the suspect motor. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Motor Replacement or Front Seat Power Recliner Replacement .

Is the repair complete?

Inspect the suspect wiring for an open between the LH seat switch and the memory seat/mirror module.

    • Entire seat forward: CKT 1522 (TAN)
    • Entire seat back: CKT 1523 (LT GRN)
    • Rear vertical up: CKT 1519 (YEL)
    • Rear vertical down: CKT 1521 (LT BLU)
    • Front vertical up: CKT 1518 (DK GRN)
    • Front vertical down: CKT 1520 (DK BLU)
    • Recline forward: CKT 276 (LT GRN)
    • Recline back: CKT 277 (LT BLU)
