Backprobe the hazard flasher connector with a test lamp from cavity B (ORN) to ground.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 3

  1. Disconnect the hazard flasher connector.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from the hazard flasher connector cavity B (ORN) to cavity A (BRN).
  3. Place the hazard switch in the ON position.

Do all turn lamps light but not flash?

Replace the hazard flasher.

Is the repair complete?

Inspect for an open in CKT 27 (BRN) between the hazard flasher and the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Testing for Continuity in Wiring Systems.

Is CKT 27 OK?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 8

Replace the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Hazard Warning Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open in CKT 140 (ORN) between the IP fuse block and the hazard flasher. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in CKT 27 (BRN) between the hazard flasher and the turn/hazard switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
