Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the tire and wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  2. Remove the brake caliper mounting bracket. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Bracket Replacement.

Brake Rotor

Procedure

  1. If removing the rotor to service the brake system, mark the relationship of the rotor to the wheel stud for proper installation.
  2. Using the J 41013 , clean the contact area of the brake rotor and the wheel bearing if the rotor is to be reused.
  3. Using the J 42450-A , remove the rust and dirt from the contact area of the wheel bearing if replacing the rotor.
  4. Inspect the assembled lateral runout (LRO). Refer to Brake Rotor Assembled Lateral Runout Correction.
