Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

    2. Object Number: 1394049 Size: SH
  2. Remove the engine control module (ECM) module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .

    3. Object Number: 1394079 Size: SH
  3. Remove the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement .
  4. Remove the coolant overflow reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  5. Remove the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
  6. Remove the camshaft covers.
    7. • For the left camshaft cover, refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement - Left Side .
    • For the right camshaft cover, refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  7. Remove the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  8. Remove the coolant outlet. Refer to Water Outlet Removal .

  9. Remove the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement .
  10. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .

    11. Object Number: 1394039 Size: SH
  11. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .
  12. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

    13. Object Number: 1412167 Size: SH
  13. Remove the engine front cover from the engine block. Refer to Engine Front Cover Removal .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 1412167 Size: SH
  1. Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Assemble .

    2. Object Number: 946142 Size: SH
  2. Install the water pump. Refer to Water Pump Replacement .
  3. Install the camshaft covers.
    4. • For the left camshaft cover, refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement - Left Side .
    • For the right camshaft cover, refer to Camshaft Cover Replacement - Right Side .
  4. Install the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

  5. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Installation .
  6. Install the coolant overflow reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement .
  7. Install the power steering reservoir. Refer to Remote Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement .
  8. Install the radiator inlet hose. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement .
  9. Install the coolant outlet. Refer to Water Outlet Installation .

  10. Install the generator assembly. Refer to Generator Replacement .
  11. Install engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement .

    12. Object Number: 1394049 Size: SH
  12. Install the ECM module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .
  13. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
