J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove front facia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
  3. Remove front bumper upper fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement

  4. Object Number: 1861183  Size: SH
  5. Remove the electrical connector from the A/C pressure switch.
  6. Remove the discharge line bolt from the A/C compressor (1).
  7. Disconnect the discharge line from the A/C compressor (3).

  8. Object Number: 1861642  Size: SH
  9. Remove the discharge line to condenser bolt (1).
  10. Disconnect the discharge line from the condenser (3).
  11. Remove the discharge line.
  12. Remove the A/C pressure switch. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement.
  13. Remove and discard the discharge line O-rings (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1861642  Size: SH
  1. Install new O-rings to the discharge line (2). Refer to O-Ring Replacement.
  2. Install the A/C pressure switch. Refer to Air Conditioning (A/C) Refrigerant Pressure Sensor Replacement.
  3. Connect the discharge line to the condenser (3).
  4. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  5. Install the discharge line to condenser bolt (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  7. Connect the discharge line to the A/C compressor (3).
  8. Install the discharge line bolt to the A/C compressor (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  10. Install front bumper upper fascia support. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Upper Support Replacement
  11. Install front facia. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Replacement
  12. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  13. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
