MULTI-CARLINE/MULT-LANGUAGE SERVICE MANUALS

MODELS AFFECTED: ALL

The GM Overseas Service Section has produced several multi-carline/multi-language Service Manual Supplement. These manuals, in booklet format, cover individual engine and transmission sections translated into the German, Dutch, French and Spanish languages.

The Service Manual Supplements have been developed in the new, easier-to-read format, utilizing symbols and artwork with less text. Page III of each Section provides detailed instructions concerning the symbol usage which appears through the Service Manual Supplements. There are also other features in the manual which improve readability such as:

Language identifiers throughout the manual that assist the reader in quickly finding the applicable language, both in the text and artwork.

Each language is continuously placed in the same location on each page of the manual.

Translated abbreviations at the beginning of the manual (refer to Pages IC through VI). These pages assist the reader in identifying abbreviations of the vehicle components and terms referenced.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
