TURBO CHARGER INSTALLATION INFORMATION

THE TURBOCHARGER PRIMARY SUPPORT ON ANY INSTALLATION HAS TO BE CARRIED BY THE TURBINE HOUSING, OTHERWISE THE TURBINE END BEARING CARRIES MOST OF THE LOAD, CAUSING THE TURBINE PISTON RING SEAL TO WEAR; ALLOWING THE EXHAUST GASES TO PENETRATE THE CENTER HOUSING ROTATING ASSEMBLY, AND PROMOTE COKING. THE FOLLOWING REVISED INSTALLATION PROCEDURES WILL ASSURE ALL TURBINE HOUSING SUPPORTS ARE SECURED BEFORE THE COMPRESSOR AND PLENUM SUPPORTS ARE TIGHTENED. REGAL TURBO UNIT ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE: 1. BENCH ASSEMBLE TURBO ASSEMBLY, TURBO PLENUM GASKET, AND PLENUM ASSEMBLY PRIOR TO LOOSE ASSEMBLY TO INTAKE MANIFOLD (SEE FIGURES 1 AND 2). 2.LOOSE ASSEMBLE TURBO ASSEMBLY AND GASKET TO INTAKE MANIFOLD (SEE FIGURE 2). 3.FINGER TIGHTEN TURBO SUPPORT BRACKET TO INTAKE MANIFOLD AND TURBO ASSEMBLY (SEE FIGURE 2). 4.LOOSE ASSEMBLE EGR PIPE TO PLENUM (SEE FIGURE 3). 5.TIGHTEN TURBO SUPPORT BRACKET TO INTAKE MANIFOLD (SEE FIGURES 1, AND 2). 6.TIGHTEN TURBO SUPPORT BRACKETS TO TURBO (SEE FIGURES 1 AND 2). 7.TIGHTEN TURBOCHARGER UNIT TO INTAKE MANIFOLD (SEE FIGURE 2). 8.TIGHTEN PLENUM SIDE SUPPORT BRACKET TO PLENUM ASSEMBLY (SEE FIGURE 1). 9.TIGHTEN EGR PIPE TO PLENUM. RIVIERA TURBO UNIT ASSEMBLY SEQUENCE. 1.ASSEMBLE TURBO SUPPORT BRACKET TIGHTLY TO RIGHT CYLINDER HEAD. (SEE FIGURE 4). 2.LOOSE ASSEMBLE TURBO ADJUSTING BRACKET TO TURBO SUPPORT BRACKET (SEE FIGURE 4). 3.ASSEMBLE TURBO ASSEMBLY, TURBO PLENUM GASKET, AND PLENUM ASSEMBLY (SEE FIGURES 4 AND 5). 4.ASSEMBLE TURBO ADAPTER WITH SEALS TO INTAKE MANIFOLD (SEE FIGURE 4). 5.LOOSE ASSEMBLE TURBO PLENUM ASSEMBLY TO INTAKE MANIFOLD, LEFT CYLINDER HEAD AND TURBO ADJUSTING BRACKET (SEE FIGURES 4, 5 AND 6). 6.LOOSE ASSEMBLE EGR PIPE TO PLENUM (SEE FIGURE 6). 7.TIGHTEN TURBO ADJUSTING BRACKET TO TURBO AND TURBO SUPPORT BRACKET (SEE FIGURE 4). 8.TIGHTEN PLENUM TO LEFT CYLINDER HEAD (SEE FIGURE 5). 9.TIGHTEN EGR PIPE TO PLENUM (SEE FIGURE 6).
