Auxiliary HVAC Module Replacement CJ4

1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.



3. Remove the center floor duct from the auxiliary HVAC module.



4. Remove the air duct screws (1).
5. Remove the floor air outlet duct (2).



6. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module retaining screws.
7. Reposition the auxiliary HVAC module.



8. Disconnect the mode actuator electrical connector (1).
9. Remove the auxiliary HVAC module from the front floor console.

1. Connect the mode actuator electrical connector (1).
2. Align the auxiliary HVAC module to the front floor console.



3. Install the auxiliary HVAC module into the front floor console.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

4. Install the auxiliary HVAC module retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the auxiliary HVAC module screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).




5. Install the floor air outlet duct (2).
6. Install the air duct screws (1).

Tighten
Tighten the air duct screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).




7. Install the center floor duct from the auxiliary HVAC module.
8. Install the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
9. Install the front seats. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
