For 1990-2009 cars only
Use 1 of the following 2 methods in order to clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) in the BCM memory:
| • | The scan tool method |
| • | The ignition cycle default method |
The following methods will NOT clear BCM DTCs:
| • | Unplugging the BCM electrical connectors |
| • | Disconnecting the battery cables |
| • | Turning the ignition switch off (except on an ignition cycle default) |

Ignition Cycle Default
The body control module (BCM) clears a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) automatically when the malfunction that set the DTC does not occur for 100 ignition cycles.
