Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Turn ON the ignition.

Are the windshield washers always on?

Go to Step 3

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

  1. Turn OFF the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the inline harness connector C201.
  3. Remove the connector terminal row E from the steering column harness connector.
  4. Connect the inline harness connector C201.
  5. Turn ON the ignition.

Are the windshield washers always on?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Repair the windshield washer pump control circuit for a short to battery positive voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Inspect for poor connections at the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Replace the windshield wiper/washer switch. Refer to Turn Signal Multifunction Switch Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 7

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
