- Insert the tool at the front of the mounting plate. Press rearward to release the mounting plate retainer and lift up on the front of the plate.
- Press down on the rear of the mounting plate to disconnect the tab. Lift out the mounting plate with the switches attached.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Remove the switch from the mounting plate.
Caution: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver door. When operated, the Express Up/Down Feature allows the door window to move very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.
Notice: Apply protective coating/tape at the insertion point of the small flat-bladed tool in order to prevent damage to the inner door trim panel.
Important:
• When removing a door trim panel or switch plate, the ignition
switch must be in the OFF position. This will eliminate the possibility of
shorting out the switch if a flat-bladed tool, awl or metal object is used
to remove the switch from the harness. • Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the power window and
door lock mounting plate assembly from the trim panel.
Installation Procedure
- Install the switches into the mounting plate.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Insert the mounting plate tab into the trim panel and press down on the front end to engage the front retainer.
