Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Verify the fault.

Does the system operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Turn the ignition to the ON position.

Is the Washer Fluid Low message displayed?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the windshield washer fluid level switch.
  2. Connect a jumper between the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit and ground.
  3. Turn the ignition to the ON position.

Is the Washer Fluid Low message displayed?

Go to Step 6

Connect a jumper between the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit and the windshield washer fluid level switch ground circuit.

Is the Washer Fluid Low message displayed?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 8

Test for a poor connection, an open, or a short to battery positive voltage in the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Disconnect the windshield washer fluid level switch.

Is the Washer Fluid Low message displayed?

Go to Step 8

Replace the windshield washer fluid level switch. Refer to Windshield Washer Solvent Level Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 12

Test for a short to ground in the low washer fluid indicator signal circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 12

Repair a poor connection or and open in the windshield washer fluid level switch ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs .

Did you complete the repair?

Replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
